Custom Car December 1986 - If The Kansas Fitch Wear It

If The Kansas Fitch, Wear It.
Whatever happened to the original American Graffiti Coupe?
It went from Fitch to Rich and still thrills believers.
I do like the way this guy writes. Well other than calling Rick Rich and as far as the facts???? I would say they are 50/50 (wink) Jeff

Hot Rod February 2007 - The American Graffiti Coupe

I like it! They talk about how Milner's Coupe was put together. They mention the purist's don't like the car but how no one can deni that the car fit it's role perfectly as the fastest car in the valley. Hot Rod also mentions that the American Graffiti Coupe is probably one of the most copied cars of all time noting that they spotted 11 clones at the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2007.

Movies as Artifacts 1982 - The Epic World Of American Graffiti

"The mythic land of American Graffiti is a country of city streets under the false day of relentless lights, of youths who live on wheels, where even the waitresses are on roller-skates and where all are electronically linked through the pulsating beat of their radios." "Wolfman Jack, the mysterious surrogate god of the neon wasteland" This article is packed with type of writing. It is a bit difficult follow at times as the Wrighter really reaches deep in to the movie with his comparisons of Milners chopped and channeled 32 to a knights armor. Most of the read pertains to John and Curt only briefly hazing over the rest of the cast.

Hit Parader Songs & Stories March 1974 - Wolfman Jack

Why the name Wolfman Jack? Wolfman because he liked horror films and Jack because Jack always knew what was happening. When George Lucas approached Wolfman he jumped at the chance to be in American Graffiti after reading the script. Wolfman thought the exposure would help his career and he was amazed that his character would be in almost every scene. Wolfman already had 20 years in the business and he could spot a great opportunity to build his brand.

Popular Hot Rodding January 1987 - American Graffiti

My story is a lot like Rick Figari's. I also saw the move and fell in love with John Milners little yellow coupe. If I would have know of Steve Fitch when the coupe was here in the Midwest I would have tried to buy her back in the 80's. How cool would that have been? In hindsight though I know it is best the coupe ended up where it is. I would have drove the wheels off of it. I do think it's really cool that the coupe is back not too far from it where she came to fame. An added bonus of that is that Milner (Paul Lemat) gets to hit the show circuit sometimes with his super fine machine.

I did get a chance to meet Paul and see the coupe at a World of Wheels show a few years back. I can tell Rick gets more than a little tired of all of us graffiti coupe maniacs buzzing around the car like nats. That being said I will say that after running my picture thru the graffiti offenders facial recognition program and coming up clean I did have a nice chat with Rick.

Rick may not like to admit it but he has the same sickness as all of the coupe builders do "Graffitious" The only difference is that he has been treating his affliction for years with the only cure available.

Positif 159 1974 American Graffiti

This French magazine makes me think of when Carlos (Manuel Padilla Jr.) says "He blasts that thing around the world" Like Wolfman Jack I bet durning the filming of American Graffiti Manuel never though that he would also blasted around the world. Jeff
