It really describes the overall "look" of the film describing it as being comic-book-like and nailed the look of the way Mel's was filmed to look like one of those old restaurant picture post cards. But reading the critique reminded me; It is not a deep movie. Trying to make the film sound interesting to someone who's an even remotely sophisticated person who has never seen it is like an exercise in futility. That sounds like a put down but its not. What IS deep is our own personal life experiences that we bring to the film and project into it every time we watch it.
